Queen's night...

...and tomorrow Queen's day

mosquitos

Not a good idea to bike with an open mouth.

Back in Dam

I'm back!
Barely alive.
Pics and stories will come.
I just have to entertain myself with a lot of studies first.
Pic below shows ONE course readings for this week,
and I have 4 courses.
See you on the other side.

More traveling

Just wanted to let you know that I won't post anything the next two days because I'm.....wait for it.....going to.....BRUSSELS!!!!

Eating chocolate, fries and drinking beers and absint, beatches!!!!

No, prolly just the 3 first.

It's spreading

Really?
In the grocery store?

Stone Age

My dad is getting an iPhone.
And I still have a Sony Ericsson w810i.
#newtechnologygenerationmyass

Yes, I'm mature

My heart stops everytime I look through my emails

wishing I could hear from the land otherside of the ocean...

the new look - part 2

So here's the pictures to describe the process.
It started yesterday.
But I don't have any pictures of my hair after the cut.
Didn't really think about it.
It looked pretty much the same as before, just shorter.
This morning, I wanted to shorten it more, cause I wanted page-like-ish.
So again with the kitchen scissor.
And voilá!

The new look - part 1

Not a good idea to cut hair after 2 glasses of wine and with a kitchen scissor.

But today, it looks fine.
I "edited" a bit.
I really needed something new and I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my hair.
My original plan was to let it grow out and have long hair again.
But I realized that it's almost summer and I like short hair because it's not much work.
washing my hair is such a pain in the arse but now when it's shorter it will be easier.
Pictures will come.
Get ready.
It's really short.
Until then, here's a picture of my "long" hair.

the love of my life

ok, I really have to stop watch Korean romantic movies.
It's not good for my health.
I right now want to meet a nice guy who first is very arrogant and immature but then when he falls in love with me he will be sweet, caring, let me paint his nails, carry my around on his back, love me more than his own life, go to war, come back from war secretly blind and in the end die, or I will die.
Watching a millionare's first love, one of my favs.
Korean movies is like a secret shameful consumtion.
It's like porn.
everyone knows that you watch it.
and you secretly love it.
but I'm not really ashamed and it's not really a secret.
I love Korean Movies!!!

The exotic Sweden

Bahahaha! I think they meant Gotland University. But everything sound better it there is an "Ö" in it, more Swedish, I guess.

From Flanagan, Critical Play.

in a Korean mood

My whole apartment spells like kimchi.
I hope my roomie doesn't mind.

I really like food

So today I went a little crazy in China town and bought so much food.

And then I made the best lunch I've had in weeks.
months?
years?
Anyway, I did some creme spinach (spinach with creme fraiche) that I put in the maki/kimbap and some other stuff.
Well you can see the pictures (or read the text below).

Creme spinach
sugar snaps
toasted salted Korean seaweed with rice mixed with 고추장, leak and sesame seeds
Kimbap with carrot, leak, sesame seeds and yellow pickled radish
Kimbab with creme spinach and carrot

I hate Korean movies

It gives you unrealistic beliefs in love.
(watching the Classic right now)

Lesson of the day

Today my teacher told me that people in Amsterdam are so used to mice that they don't even care about telling foreign people about it.
I wish someone would have told me.
I'm telling you this story because today I saw the mouse running around in my classroom...
Now I get it why there's so many cats around.....

More food porn

Food is one of my great pleasures in life.
Especially when I don't have to cook it.
Here in 'dam, it has become a habit to go to restaurants, eet cafes and ordering in.
So last week me and Veronica went to this awesome sushi place.
A bit pricy but soooo worth it.
I missed sushi.
I haven’t found any nice and cheap place yet.
But this was what I believe heaven is like.
Food circling around and you choose what you want to have.

I had the tempura shrimp sushi plate, avocado and salmon California roll and tuna sashimi (but I was too excited to take a picture of it).

So freakin awesome!
I will definitely go back.
Tho it’s kinda funny that I happen to choose the most expensive plates.
I guess I’m lucky that way.

My teacher

"I have a fetish for the 60s"

Not a good idea to sleep in class

Today we had a guest lecture about VAA (Voting Advice Application).
I was so tired (and when I’m sleepy there is not a nuclear bomb or fried chicken in the world that can stop me from falling asleep, seriously I’ve got some weird stories about the different places I’ve fallen asleep at)
so I fell asleep for like a few seconds.
I could still hear him talking
and started to dream.
He said something about politicians and winning voters .
And I dreamt about me bringing politicians a cookie.
When I woke up (after a few seconds)
I almost screamed out in the classroom:
“I’ve got the cookie!!!”

I made this illustrations in class (yes, it was that interesting)

to help you visualize

Btw, there was a mouse in the classroom.
At the 3rd floor...
yeah....
we’ve got pets!

The Dream

Tonight I had a nightmare.
I was going shopping for groceries.
I was looking for Basmati rice.
I found it.
I bought it.
Then when I came back home I realized that...
I had bought Jasmine rice.
NOOOOOOOO!
(rice is very important to me)

The aging thing

Okay, I went a little bit overboard yesterday when I was shopping.
Since I feel that I’m not getting younger I thought of buying some beauty products to calm myself down.
And apparently it’s also good for your skin.
So I bought some...stuff...
Coz I’m so new to this shit, my friend Bea had to help me.
She’s French.
And she can read French.
Because it was all written in Dutch and French on the bottles.
So I bought some night cream.
(rumour has it that you’re supposed to have a day-and night cream, who would have known?)
And clear-up stripes.
And another thing for washing the face.
(I didn’t know that you should have several washing milks for your face)
So now I have a routine every night and day.
I wear sunblock (in the morning of course, yeah, I get really tanned when I’m sleeping)
because I get tanned easily and I don’t want to look like a raisin when I’m older.
I also moisturize my body with this awesomely smelly mango butter ( wanna smear it on a bagel).
I wonder how long this is going to last....

My gastronomic abilities

I haven't cooked warm food in ages.
Somehow I lost my joy for cooking.
Instead I prefer to do the dishes.
Sunday I ended up washing the dishes at my friends place...
weird.

Anyway.
Yesterday I had my first home COOKED meal since....
I don’t remember....weeks? (I survive on rice crackers and cereals).
Mac and ketchup with sunny side up.
I love cooking.

Man, I'm old

I always joke around that I'm older than most people here in 'dam.
I also had my 25 year old crisis when I turned 24.
But now I don't really think about it.
Till TODAY!
I caught myself googling toning lotions.

I already made a mental shoppinglist with all the beauty products that I will buy.
I've always used 2 different products, makeup remover and tonic water and then moisturizer.
ok that is 3 products.
Anyway, I found myself looking in my suitcase after my mums eye cream that I thought she had packed.
But no.
Instead I found 3in1, Vichy.
It will work too.
But I want eye cream.
and anti wrinkle cream.
hell, I don't know what I want.
those were the only creams I could think of.
I'm not used to this shit.
I don't want to look like an old lady.
i don't look like an old lady
but you never know
maybe I will
or not
idk
i'm freaking out

Food Porn

rice noddles with rosted pork. the pork was delish! I could eat that pork my entire life.
Nomnomnomonom.

Yesterday evening we went to this Chinese restaurant in the Pipe.
Really cheap, awesome, greasy Chinese food.
But it's fun coz I always get the question if I'm Chinese.
Even funnier that Veronica, my friend who also loves Asian food, is half Chinese, but no one ever asks her.
I've stopped saying I'm Swedish coz it harder to explain the whole story so to save energy and words I just say that I'm Korean.
But it's kinda tricky coz then they start speaking Korean to me.
But due to this I learned the most common Korean words so I can just nod and smile.
Yeah, it took me 6 weeks to learn 안녕하세요 and 감사합니다.
So yesterday when the cute Chinese lady asked me if I was Chinese I just said "no, I'm Korean."
She replied
감사합니다 (thank you).
And I smiled and nodded.
How can I reply to thank you in Korean?
참 잘 오셨습니다?
But it's really hard to lean that.
Anyway my point with this post is not to have a Korean Language lesson.
So me and Veronica always ask for chopsticks and are the only ones who put a lot of chili sauce on the food.
and everyone always look at us like we're crazy.
just because we can eat with sticks and handle the heat.
we're awesome.
but I really need to learn how to eat spicy food.
I can handle spicy food but Veronica plays in a totally different league.
I wanna be able to eat spicy food like her.
But when I do.
I get cramps in my stomach.
And need to be alone in a certain room all night.

what happend?

I remember the time when I was funny.
I remember the time when I was living a boring life.
But at least I was funny in print.

Now I'm more funny live.
So if you want to laugh,
you really should meet me in person.
Coz it seems like I can't be funny writing.

I gave it a try.
It didn't work.
How did this happend?
Why can't I be funny when I write?

I guess it's called writer's block...

Oh Yeah!

Too bad I have to study.
