Have you every noticed that when you talk to someone online, like skype, msn with audio, no video you start make gestures even thought the person you're talking actually to can't see you?

I was on skype with my dear friend Li, this evening and the audio was not great, but we could hear each other. at the end of the call I started waving to him.
I don't know why.
It's not like he would see me from Beijing.
and the webcam was off.
I know, I'm weird.
